About

Sarah Jane is the artist and maker behind UB. She holds a Bachelor of Design from OCAD University (Ontario College of Art and Design), where she specialized in Jewelry and Textile Design.
Today, Sarah works from her home-based studio in the North Okanagan, nestled along the Shuswap River, where she lives with her husband and young son.
While Sarah considers herself an artist who just happens to make jewelry, her work is a combination of traditional jewelry techniques like lost wax casting juxtaposed with modern processes like laser cutting and 3D printing. For the last decade, her practice focused primarily on using wood and brass, but she is currently returning to her roots, expanding her work to include both silver and bronze.
Deeply inspired by the Canadian landscape, her creative evolution is intimately tied to her own journey as an artist and a mother. Sarah is fascinated by how individuals use jewelry as a connection to their own memories, adventures, and personal growth. For her, art and jewelry are more than adornments—they have the powerful ability to connect people with their own hopes and desires.
