Summer Recap

This summer was different in the best way — slower, simpler, and finally full-time together as a family. For the first time in over 2 years, we weren’t splitting our time between Kelowna and the cabin build. It also happened to be River’s last summer before starting kindergarten, which made it feel even more special. I also did something I’ve never done before: I put my mental health first, giving myself permission to slow down and really be present with my little family.
I took a little step back from social media over the past few months. The world has felt heavy, and being on social media, as well as posting regularly, was hard if I felt like I couldn’t show up authentically — even though I do enjoy sharing my work.
Between working, we filled our time with camping trips, hanging out on the river, beach days, sunset sits on our little stretch of river, evenings around campfires with friends and family, and even a quick trip for me and Mr.Blue back to Ontario to family. I carried my sketchbook with me on all our adventures, making notes and sketches for new pieces as inspiration struck. I still worked in the studio whenever I could, but I also gave myself permission to slow down — something I’ve learned is crucial for my ADHD brain and creativity. That slower pace gave me the space to restore, and the ideas I started this summer are ones I’m excited to start to explore more in depth as River is in school and I’m back in the studio full time
Now that the seasons are shifting and River is in kindergarten, I’m excited to start sharing more as I work on new pieces, as well as some of the things you’ve been asking for. Over the past year, I’ve had quite a few requests to bring back some older necklace styles (and maybe a few studs, too)… but more on that and other things over the next few weeks—stay tuned for updates!
.And next week, I’ve got a birthday surprise coming up 🎉. If you’re not on my newsletter yet, now’s the time to join so you don’t miss it.
If you’ve read this far, thanks for following along — I’m hopeful and excited for 2026!
